What type of information do we have and how do we get it?

The personal data we collect comes directly from customers who have contacted us via the website, email, or social media channels. Personal data can include any or all of the following:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Business name
  • Job title
  • Profession
  • Payment information
  • Other information customers intentionally share such as testimonials and feedback

Why do we collect personal data and how will we use it?

Under GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for using personal data. Your personal data may be used for one or more of the following purposes:

  • Supplying our products to you
  • Communicating with you and supplying information to you via email or social media. You may opt-out of such correspondence at any time by emailing katherine@whatsyourstrength.co.uk
  • With your permission we may also use your personal data for marketing purposes. This includes emails with information, news, and offers on our products, and also the use of your testimonials on our website or social media channels.

 

We will never share your personal data with any other third parties.

How do we store your personal data?

  • Contact details are stored on a password protected computer and backed up by a cloud storage system.
  • Please be aware that all reasonable steps are taken to prevent unauthorised access to the computers concerned.
  • We will not keep your personal data for any longer than is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which is was first collected. If you purchase a product from us, we are required under UK tax law for sole traders to keep records for a minimum of 5 years after which time your personal data will be destroyed.
  • Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

 

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. Please contact us katherine@whatsyourstrength.co.uk if you wish to make a request.

How to complain

What’s your strength?® wants you to be confident that your personal data is treated respectfully and confidentially and that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your data is only accessed by those who need to do so. However, if you feel we have mishandled your data in some way you have the right to complain.  Initial complaints need to be addressed to the Data Controller, which in the case of What’s your strength?® is:
